SHIT HOWDY, THIS ACTUALLY WORKS

Well I just started at The Gnomon Workshop creating some texture libraries.

So now I'm interested in sharing my iTunes Library over the internet:

Under iTunes 4.0, a lot of people started using music sharing to access the music on their home computers from work. Sadly, iTunes 4.0.1 removed this feature due to piracy concerns. Fortunately, you can re-enable iTunes sharing across subnets with the freeware Rendezvous Beacon.

After downloading and launching Rendezvous Beacon, create a new Beacon with the following values:

Beacon Enabled: (checked)

Service Name: (descriptive name)

Service Type: _daap._tcp.

Port Number: 3689

Text Record: (empty)

Enable Host Proxy: (checked)

Host Name: (rendezvous name of your home computer)

IP Address: (ip address of home computer)

Now you'll be able to access the iTunes shared music on your home computer through your work computer's iTunes as if they were both on the same subnet.

If I -ever- see "THE WOZ" in his Z8 I'm going to beat the shit out of him AND his car.

The eyes are the windows to the soul, and the soul's windows to the world.
BURN BURN BURN

Which is what I'll do for all the DVDs I've been copying lately. Finally, a Mac DVD duplicator. http://www.fastdvdcopy.com/ At 99 bucks it's a heck of a lot more than http://www.dvdshrink.org/ but hey, now I'm farther along in ditching Windows.

Jesus don't want you to copy DVDs.

NASA Develops Subvocal Speech Detection

http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2004/mar/HQ_04093_subvocal_speech.html

By attaching two button-sized sensors, NASA scientists have recorded and processed the patterns of silent 'subvocal speech,' also known as 'talking to oneself.' When speaking inaudibly, the brain sends signals to the tongue and vocal chords which can be detected, even if no sound is actually produced. Right now the system only works with a small set of words, but as the detection process improves, the technology could find its way into interfaces for the disabled, or in quiet speech-based interfaces for PDAs and mobiles.

Pot-In-Pot Electric-less Cooling

http://hinterlands.cc/index.php?showtopic=30

Mohammed Bah Abba won the $100,000 Rolex award for his invention, 'Pot-In-Pot.' By taking a small pot and placing it inside of a larger pot, with moist sand in-between, people in Abba's native Nigera--and anything else that might warm but without easy refrigeration--have been able to increase their food storage from three days to almost three weeks. This change has allowed more girls to go to school as they are not forced to spend so much time in the local markets.

Genius is simple.
