| Timeless.. . . contemplative. . . universal. . . with the ability to touch the psyche and the soul--these are the aims and achievements of my works in hand-carved natural stone. You will sense in them echoes of the past--the Classical Period, the Renaaissance, and the Impressionists. You will also detect a contemporary awareness of abstract form. This piece got its name when, just as it was completed, a colleague remarked that it reminded him of the ancient status accidentally brought up in the nets of Mediterranean fisherman. The muse embodied in this work would add a touch of grace and inspiration to a book-filled study , a covered garden, or the tasting room of a fine winery. |
