We have
entered the Long Rift, Gallett. I'm sending you this now because there
is a courier leaving tonight. The Progenitor, as you might guess, has business
to conduct always. Her people, her offspring, her estate, none of them
can exist without the touch of her hand and the verification of her word.
But I don't know when the next courier will leave after the 1 who departs
later this night so I'll update you as well as I can now.
1st,
I can tell you I am fine and am having a splendid time working with the
diggers and learning from them while offering my meds opinions on various
findings and speculations for like most avid practitioners they can't very
well stop themselves. It does make for a lively journey.
I see
the rider in the evenings because we share a tent. She is withdrawn from
me, from all of us, preparing, and now, too, she is sensing. She began
this before we ever reached the rim of the Rift and started to descend.
That was yesterday. Today for all of the day we moved within it. It is
old. The diggers say it is believed to be the oldest on the planet.
