"Oh, so you sensed that did you? They met less than a cycle ago, at the last music fair in Ghordaq."
"Just over the lines from Kyd's outer region. The eastern border." Ince was mulling, thinking aloud, fitting pieces together almost before she had them. This did not mean it was inaccurate. Ince's mind could jump, and to effect, like no other I had ever seen.
"I believe so, though I have never been to Mirhveda. I ought to, I think," and she smiled at me. Her blue eyes were kind and were truly curious about this lot which was so important to me as well as to Ince who had established it with young trainee Gallett's help, at her insistance in fact, and with the grudging aid of Kyd 1 of the many unattached of Vomedu Sector in Silq's denser.
        "Did you witness the meeting?"
"No, Fion told me of it. It was by chance, among the music booths."
"Or so it seemed," Ince was harsh.
        "Mmm," Vryyh was flexible.
"Fion has feelings for Cheryn. I saw that."
        "Yes, you saw correctly."
Ince's dark eyes met mine full of her statements, accusations, connections. I was wondering about the complications, if any there were, of a highly valued child of a great Progenitor wishing to take as consort, and it seemed as well the 1st consort, a former unattached orphan now in a nomadic band in another lot with no wealth and no lineage. This did not seem auspicious but then that was leaving Vryyh out of the equation.
