Images of Post-War Era Rural Japan

Seikichi Izawa (1926-1997)

These are some of Dr. Seikichi ("Sei") Izawa's works, most of which are from the early years of Post-WWII rural Japan (the works are not relevant to the war itself). Dr. Izawa was a scientist, better known for works like Photochemical Reduction and Oxidation of Menadione (Vitamin K3) in Chloroplasts, but had always enjoyed dabbling in art. One of his youthful science notebooks, for example, is filled with doodles of dinosaurs and the like (his teacher was apparently unappreciative).

These images here are what I am privileged to have (some are photocopies); I do not currently have access to what I consider most of his best works. Also note: these images are cropped from having been scanned. Where there is no identification I have taken the liberty of adding it. Lastly, none of these originally had titles; the titles below are mine, based on the images.
