A canal-like village river
Watercolor on pencil sketch
Date Unknown
Seikichi Izawa
Note: Japan is known for building up artificial banks alongside the
rivers that once flowed naturally through towns. As a boy, Sei
was able to fish from clear waters. Now, of course, that's not
so possible.
This image was originally a rough pencil sketch (an even rougher one
is on the back), with little notes like "yellow" and such to indicate
colors to put in later.
