Off topic? Sounds like a new topic.

If there are people out there who can take one solid idea and bring it to
fruition without it being changed by performers, media, performance space,
etc, then I wish they'd share their secret. Or maybe not; I've found that
some of the best parts of my work have grown out of the elements involved.

True, but I must admit I enjoy the rush (usually after it's over). I
wouldn't worry about it, Jane. Creation is a process, not an event. If
you're open to recieving and acting on input from your performers, in my
book that makes you a better artist, who is learning the fine, elusive art
of collaboration.
