My first endeavor as a sculptor was constructed from plate drops and large pipe cutouts. Working as an apprentice pipefitter I stayed after work each day for several weeks. During construction different problems would arise requiring innovative solutions. Problems solving became a large part of the game. That, compiled with the lack of rules or deadlines, gave sculpture great appeal. This piece represents a turning point in my life. Once you have picked up and played with the magic wand, it seems quite difficult to put it down. |
