I consider myself a human equivilent to the dung beetle. In so far as I like to surround myself with refuse. ( a polite term) Other words for my media include: discards, scraps, floatsam, jetsam, waste products, detritus, cast-offs, and drywall screws. Basically, stuff nobody wants. Stuff you throw away. My junk is my alphabet. Other visual artists and things I enjoy looking at: Louise Nevelson, Rene Magritte, unfinished construction projects, Judy Phaff, California Funk, Deborah Butterfield, heavy machinery, Gertman Expressionists (old and new), Jean Tinguely, and many more can't think of right now. Here are some adjectives that could describe my current work Animated playful figurative ridiculous structural contrary underpriced heavy inhospitable clunky and . . . some what absurd. . . which I kinda like. |
