To Mary-Lou, others who have recently done scholarly work on dance and
technology, and artists working with multi-media technology in live
performance...

I'd be very interested in learning more about your recent research and/or
artwork. I'm beginning to prepare my dissertation on multi-media
technology and theatrical performance. At the moment, I'm looking
specifically at William Forsythe and the Frankfurt Ballet, Laurie Anderson,
and The Wooster Group. I'm curious about how artists and scholars
understand technology as more than just a glitzy scenographic element,
especially with regards to how new technology comes to bear on the
processes of the conceptual development of a piece, performer training and
rehearsal. In the work of Forsythe, Anderson, and the Wooster Group, I'm
looking at various relationships between technology and body/movement,
voice, and the performance of canonical dramatic texts, respectively.

I have just recently joined this list and have enjoyed the lively
discussions that I've read so far. Please feel free to respond on or
off-list.

Thanks,
Rebecca Groves
