I decided to explore ceramic again in a series of sculptures that have beside the clay, metal added or glass if not both in the same piece

I am finally putting together the many parts of the solid spindle forms I did at Kohler 1996. I am using spring pins and it is really hard to get everything to line up so I can put the parts together. The two part spindle form is the simplest of them all so it made sense to work on that one first.

Something Totally New

I have been working this year with a little bit different media than before. The reason is that I have a show in Iceland next year and I want to use in that show some material that is already available there and thought of all the beaches at home that have these wonderful round stones just waiting to be used. Before I go home I need to get a feel for this new media so I have been welding frames around California stones the last two months or so.

Here are two samples of what I have been doing.
