Kati Casida makes sculptures in various metals. Her main interest is sculpture for public places. Her work can be found in cities of Berkeley, CA, Santa Clara, CA, Oakland, CA, San Francisco, CA and in Dallas, TX as well as in her native Viroqua,WI. She works in aluminum and steel, sometimes combining these with wood or stones. Her themes are nature, the landscape, nomadic life, tents, ships and sleds, often reflecting her Norwegian-American background and studies of Sami (Lap people) of the Nordic countries. Casida is a member of the International Sculpture Center, Washington, D.C., The Pacific Rim Sculpture Group, San Francisco Bay Area, A charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, a member of the National Women's Caucus for Art, Holocaust Museum, Washington, D.C., American Indian Council, nordic 5 arts group, San Francisco Bay Area, Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, CA.
