Hi
I have been so busy lately with Assessment and performances I haven't
had a chance to check my e-mail, and was surprised to find no new
messages from the dance-tech list, you must all be flat out too.
I am currently organising workshops for my students for dance and
technology down at School of the Future in Adelaide. The performing
arts coordinator there hasn't had much experience with dance but he's
really keen. He's developed a joystick, based on the computer games
idea, that the performer can hold in their hand and manipulate digital
projections, sound, musical scores or even lighting. The electronics
of the thing can be made into any stage prop. He's also made a dance
floor with electronic sensors which when stepped on activate sound, or
musical phrases. Any way... hope to hear from you all soon! Actually
now I think about it, it's probably holidays over there?
cheers Mary-Lou
