Dialogue

I've been lurking on this list for a while, and wonder if I might pose a
few questions to those of you who are interested. First, some background
info:

I am editor of *Dance Research Journal*, a well respected, international
journal of dance research published by the Congress on Research in Dance
(CORD). I initiated a new column in DRJ a couple of years ago, called
"Dialogue." My intention in this column is to commission 2 authors to
address a topic of controversy in dance research, and to present different
perspectives on that topic. I hope to stimulate further thought and debate
in the dance community through raising and articulating points of view on
these issues. So far, I've presented 2 such Dialogues: one on dance
history methodology and one on the use of new choreography vs. historical
reconstructions in dance repertory. I'd like to have an upcoming Dialogue
issue that addresses a topic in the area of dance and technology. At the
moment, here's what I'm thinking: I'd like one author to take a cautionary
approach (what we might lose, the dangers of getting "sucked into"
technologies), and another to take an enthusiast's approach (what we have
to gain, how technologies can make the field fly). Maybe these aren't the
best ways to frame the topic--or even the best topics. Here come the
questions:
1) How can I improve or refine or change these questions to address some
meaty issues?
2) Any volunteers out there who'd like to write?

Thanks!
