Skellington Tea Party

When the moon comes out over the lurid grey gravestones, and no one's around ... ummm -- no body is around ... what happens then? Tea Party! Through the magic of time zones it's always tea time somewhere. For the Skellingtons, the best time for tea is NOW!

This painting is available as two types of NFT: the crossover, and an editioned print hybrid. With the crossover, you get the NFT and the digital file. The source code for the generative music program that created the soundtrack for the video is included in the unockable content.

The crossover NFT began as an oil painting, illustrating a cute concept: what do the skellingtons do when they get a hankering for a cuppa? It now lives in digital form as a video with an eerie swelling soundtrack generated by custom code that converges sound particles through strange harmonic spaces to finally resolve. Unlockable content includes high-res a digital version of the painting, a full-resolution render of the video, and the source code to the soundtrack generator.

Skellington Tea Party's soundtrack starts off in eerie land with an A diminshed seventh chord that almost resolves to a C minor, then takes a little trip through some minor harmonic spaces to get to the high wistfulness of a C major seventh that finally resolves to round warm surge in C major. But what's all that nise along the way? It comes from the algorithm, which is loosely based on the THX sound, swelling random sine waves that meander farther the longet they take to converge towards their spooky destination. The algorithm is written in python to directly manipulate the morass of sine waves, with a little bit of guidance. Source code is included in the unlockable content.

The editioned-print version of the NFT comes with a print of the painting.
