Today

Today I no longer work in a traditional studio.

The first time I opened a computer, it was like a religious experience . I left the studio and have been sitting in front of a monitor ever since. I'm putting this on record here because I've forgotten what life was like before the technology.

One of my first drawings on the computer was done using Pixel Paint, the first real paint program for the computer. While I no longer work in a traditional studio, I do continue my lifelong practice of studying drawing. All the problems of drawing can be found in the nude figure so every week I go to the San Francisco Art Institute where I draw from a live model.

In the next room you will see some paintings done on the computer.

You will see channel operations on the little church to give you an idea of the many moods a painting can take with the computer.

Then you will see a nude drawn directly into the computer. For this one I didn't use a model or a scan, but drew directly into the computer screen with the mouse.

Careful.
