Leonardo da Vinci
Transcript from notebook
Leonardo da Vinci --
Trees appear to be painted in brown, then extreme dark neutral green and
sky up to edge so that there is a thin trim of warmth around detailed edge.
Middle ground trees: no detail within. Apertures -- warmer than sky. Giorgione
did the same, but tree part might have been a bit browner. The effect in
both is what looks like a bleeding of the warm brown paint into the sky.
