More about Dianne Tittle de Laet
Dianne Tittle de Laet is a poet and harpist dedicated
to the celebration of the Hero and the re-creation of women's voices from
the Sumerian, Old Testament and Greek oral traditions. For the past 12 years,
Dianne has performed at Stanford University and at other schools and cultural
organizations. A published poet and marathon runner, Dianne has written
a book about the ancient Olympic games.
In December of 1995, her book Giants & Heroes was published.
In these pages, while telling a family story about her childhood as the
daughter of a contemporary sports hero, Hall of Fame quarterback Y.A. Tittle,
de Laet re-creates the ancient Greek victory song of the lyric poet Pindar.
She asks, What is a hero? and declares a victory for the good struggle.
