This website contains a small sample of the art of Marina Izrailevich, representing over 20 years of work.
She works with almost all media, including
oil on canvas; watercolor, chalk, charcoal, and pastel on paper; occasional
painting or drawing in acrylic; welded steel sculpture.
Marina's art is about color, texture, movement, and flow. Movement of pencil on paper, brush on canvas, and lines and shapes on a surface, any surface. It's about the excitement of watching hot metal bending under acetylene torch and the flow of melting metal as two pieces are joined together and a sculpture emerges. It's about the impossible, the discovery of a potential, and the excitement of seeing a completed work.
Marina earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in New york. She had several shows in galleries in New York City, and one of her shows was written up in the New York Times. She currently lives and works in Santa Cruz,
California. Please click the links across the top to see pictures
