The pool area is clothing optional, and the dressing facilities are co-ed.
Alcohol, drugs and pets are not permitted. (No pets may be left in vehicles.)
Smoking is restricted to an area by the parking lot. Open fires, candles
and camp stoves are strictly forbidden.
Pool maintenance happens the first Tuesday of each month. Cold plunge
becomes hot; heart pool becomes the warm; swimming pool is cold plunge.
Holiday Rates will be in effect February 18-19.
Our friendly Restaurant
Please note the following schedule changes that affect the restaurant and
health food store:
The Stonefront Restaurant will close after breakfast on Monday, January 8
th for cleaning and re-open on Friday, 8 am, January 12th. The entire
building, including the library and Stonefront Upper will also be closed
during this time.
Harbin Health Food Store is scheduled for some painting and maintenance
work this winter which will require that we close for several days. Since
we don't yet know what date this can happen, please check before your
visit if you plan to shop here.

Reservations
Harbin is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We suggest you bring a towel, flashlight and sandals. Basic rooms and
dorms are not supplied with towels.
Breakfast and dinner are served daily in our restaurant. Our natural food
store and office store carry sandwiches, snacks and beverages. Refrigerator
space and cooking facilities are available for guests. Meat, fish and
poultry are not allowed in the guest kitchen in any form. Due to fire risk,
cooking with outdoor campstoves is prohibited. Supermarket shopping is
available four miles away in Middletown.
Families may camp away from the Mainside area. Be aware that children
under the age of 18 are not allowed in rooms, and their use of Mainside
areas and the pools is limited and restricted to daylight hours. Children
under the age of 18 may use only the large cold swimming pool and warm
heart-shaped pool. Due to the rustic nature of Harbin's grounds, children
under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Workshops at Harbin are offered by independent teachers, facilitators and
institutes. Generally your registration fees include full use of Harbin's
baths, trails and other facilities.
We're located approximately 2 hours from San Francisco or Sacramento. At
the only stoplight in Middletown, go West on Highway 175. Drive three blocks
to Barnes St./Big Canyon Rd. and turn right.
Drive 1.2 miles to Harbin Springs
Road (a fork at the top of a ridge) and turn left. Follow the road for
2 miles to our gatehouse.
Greyhound buses leave San Francisco and Oakland daily and arrive in
Middletown in the evening.
Rides from Middletown are available by
arrangement; please call us in advance. Return buses depart in the morning.

Room reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends.
Reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card or advance payment;
cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your arrival date
to avoid charges. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards or
personal checks with ID.
