help on BigEye and Powerbook G3

The best laid plans of mice and me...I recently invested my tax return
in a spiffy powerbook G3 with an iRez video input card, and I have to
admit I love them both. However, I was hoping to use BigEye with these
devices, letting the serial port drive a Roland SoundCanvas and having a
very portable setup.

Alas, alack, aday. First the BigEye demo refused to acknowledge the
presence of the video signal, although it would talk to the MIDI
interface and run the scripts I'd created. Thinking that I might have a
corrupted file or an outdated copy, I downloaded a new demo today and
installed it.

Now I can't even get the application to start--crashes every time. OMS
works ok, if I run setup, etc. before I try BigEye--after BigEye
crashes, OMS refuses to start again either.

Is anyone else using this type of setup, or has an idea why this might
be happening? Any suggestions would be extremely valuable, since I'm
hoping to use this in a few weeks for a public performance...
