Hi-
I would like to put my two cents in also.
As a parent I found that children were always exposed to that which I
personally did not like, agree or approve. I learned that it was my job to
influence a child by expressing my viewpoint and giving other options which
were to be the norm in our house. It comes down to teaching a child to
have a unique and strong view of self as a buffer aginst the grime of life
as well as giving a kidlet enough of your undivided time to listen and ask
questions which is what I found to be an important part of parenting.
Even the news has storiest (ie dying etc.) that I would have liked to spare
a youngster but when one realizes that since the world can not be as one
would like and your job is not to be God but just to help a young one grow
up survive and be independent as a creative personality censorship becomes
a personal choice rather than a governmental edict.
