thanks for the article, lile. i have passed it along to my son who is (you
guessed it) 15 years old and a journalist already. as i read it i could
picture him responding to it. the one thing that really irritates him (and
he is very patient and persistent in pursuing a story for the two newspapers
he edits) is when someone he has to deal with treats him like a kid rather
than a reporter on a story. we aren't putting blocks on our system at home.
the one thing we hold sacred is information access. my son's paternal grand-
mother was one of the original three commissioners of the connecticut state
freedom of information commission, and his grandfather was a newsman and
editor all his life. information access is the bones and blood of a free
society.
