With the outstanding help of our local wizard, we now have
art.net secure again. The website was down for just about
5 hours after the breakin occured. While we recovered, we
had to turn ftp access off.
It seems that the crackers got off with our system file that
has the passwords again so we need to issue new passwords
to everyone. Sorry about this.
As for the passwords, it would be great if artists local to
us call us with new passwords. Our number is (650) 322-8021.
We can then update your passwords so you can start accessing your
spaces again.
For those who are far away and can't call, please send me
email so we can make other arrangements. Please include your
phone number if you can.
I also installed ssh which is encryption software that allows
you to ftp securely if you have the client software. You can
find one version of this (called F-Secure) at the following

Thanks again for being so patient in this situation. Hopefully
we have plugged all the holes and will not be broken into again.
