I just created a HyperMail archive of the discussions of a mailing list
that is related to the Dance & Technology web site that I have on Art on
the Net. ( http://www.art.net/~dtz )
There were about 800 sepearate files in this archive, which I began to
upload via FTP. During this process, there were numerous times when the
FTP server apparently froze up. The first several times this happened I
waited a long time to see if it would clear up, but it never did. The only
way to fix the problem was to disconnect, reconnect, and start up with the
next file in the list. This took me hours to complete which was a bummer.
This is not an isolated experience, I have had it happen before when
uploading to Art on the Net, but since it had only been a couple of dozen
files in the past it wasn't such a big deal. If have tried two Macintosh
FTP clients (Fetch and Anarchie) and both exhibit the same problems, so I
don't think it is on my end.
Lile, do you know anything about this? Has anyone else had this experience?
Is there anything that can be done about it?
Thanks in advance,
Mark Coniglio
