Something strange happened early this morning. The Domain Name
Root Servers were corrupted and because of this, the domains in
.com , .org , .net , etc were non-existing. This means that
domains such as aol.com and art.net were unknown to other hosts
on the Internet. The problems started around 11:30pm
last night and cleared up at around 10am this morning (PST).
The problem was caused by the Internic uploading corrupted DNS files
to the root servers.
Everything now seems back to normal though.
Many of your reports didn't make it though so I resent them just a few
moments ago.
If we ever have another DNS outage, you can always reach art.net
by it's IP address which is:
192.92.112.50
So to reach our webserver, you would type:
or via ftp :
ftp 192.92.112.50
Let us know if you have any questions.
thanks,
