Moire Nevuchim

From a series of paintings, which I call “Moire Nevuchim”,
a pun on the Hebrew name of the famous philosophical
treatise by the Rambam or Maimonides:
"The Guide to the Perplexed".
Here "moire" interference patterns from discarded fly screens
are used to suggest a certain ineffable transcendence,
a kinetic optical illusion which doesn't exist in "reality".

Road Map of the Sephirot #1

Sephirot

The Kabbalah uses the Ten Sephirot or Supernal Orbs

as the basic roadmap to all reality and existence,
usually depicted in books as a hierarchical schematic.
Here the sephirot - ten colored marbles - are turned inwards

and become almost humanized.

The Vengence of Pinchus

Pichus

According to the Zohar. Pinchas "saw"
the letters mem מ and tav ת
descending ominiously from Above to
threaten the Israelites with מת death.
He prevented this with his רומח spear
capturing and neutralizing
the mem מ within the letters
raish ר and chet ח
creating ruach רוח soul.
