The source of inspiration for this series came from dreams. The dreams and realizations came in the form of very powerful images, emotions and subtle messages which contained metaphors on reality vs. dreams and mortality vs. immortality. I began to record the dreams as painted images. Because the dreams were abstract in nature, I decided not to use representational symbols, but color, light, and forms to translate the dreams into emotionally revealing and bold images.

The most important elements of the dreams were not the images, but the truths behind them. Expressing the contents of the dreams and bringing them into reality was facilitated by the use of thick oil paint mixed with a wax medium.
