Stormy Seas at Cape
Henlopen, September 4, 1999
I
never thought I could take a trip again, but with returning
vitality I went to the Lewes home of Mark
and Kathryn, and to the beach in stormy weather. I
was reminded of a favorite poem. It bespeaks of widowhood,
also:
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take,
The clouds you so much dread
Are full of mercy, and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by your feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
